La parroquia San Lucas está ubicada al norte de la provincia de Loja, a 45 km en la Panamericana Loja - Cuenca, en el cantón y provincia de Loja, a pesar de sus cercanías al cantón Saraguro, esta no pertenece a Saraguro sino es de jurisdicción del Cantón Loja.

En la parte oriental del pobado de San Lucas (provincia de Loja), en la quebrada de Vinoyacu y al pie del cerro Acacana, en un pequeño valle flanqueado por dos riachuelos, se encuentra el monumento arqueológico de Tambo Blanco o Ciudadela.
